Vaillant awarded Silver Status for sustainability

Vaillant has achieved silver membership status with the Supply Chain Sustainability School for demonstrating an ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Steve Cipriano, commercial director at Vaillant

Designed to help improve sustainability across the built environment, the Supply Chain Sustainability School is part-funded by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), to provide free training designed to upskill suppliers and sub-contractors related to the wider UK construction industry.

Vaillant’s silver membership status was awarded following successful completion of its initial sustainability action plan and the business’ ability to demonstrate sustainability across its entire business portfolio. Notably, the heating specialist had exceeded the benchmark in areas such as energy and carbon, purchasing and product.

Steve Cipriano, commercial director at Vaillant said: “We were made aware of the Supply Chain Sustainability School by one of our specification customers and saw it as an opportunity to take stock of our sustainability agenda and work with others to help improve the sustainability of the sector as a whole.

“Sustainability is incredibly important to our business and to the heating sector more widely. For many years we have invested in the development of low carbon technologies and high-efficiency products for our customers, as well as internal initiatives that help our business to operate more sustainably.

“As the demand for renewable heating technologies continues to grow in the UK, the Vaillant manufacturing facility in Belper will be well placed to meet the demands of the market, contributing significantly to Government targets for the decarbonisation of heat.”

Through the Supply Chain Sustainability School, members such as Vaillant can develop a unique sustainability action plan tailored to what they do, who they do it for and how sustainability impacts their industry. They can also access exclusive online and in-person training to help complete the action plan and instil sustainability across all areas of their organisation – which have been benchmarked against an industry-wide standard.
